Xiaomi 15 Ultra To Come With 16GB Of RAM

It looks like the new design, AI features, and performance boost from the powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite have been making quite a splash with Samsung’s S25 series. Samsung also bumped up the RAM and storage accordingly. However, a new leak recently came forward to reveal that the upcoming Xiaomi 15 Ultra will give it serious competition, with flagship features putting it on par with Google Pixel 9 Pro and OnePlus 13.

Samsung Facing Competition

For years, Samsung has had the top spot in foldable phones, but 2023 saw some real challenges from Chinese brands such as Honor, Xiaomi, and Oppo. Really, these have shaken Samsung to its core, and it’s been forced to make some considerable upgrades in the S25 series. Of course, Samsung has tried to win back with new releases, but the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is going to make things a little more difficult.

Leaked Specs and Colors

According to 91mobiles, one more leak surfaced online, detailing the global variant of the Xiaomi 15 Ultra. The colors it would be made available in include:

1. Black

2. White

3. Silver

That’s an improvement from the previous one.

For storage, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra is expected to have a 16GB RAM + 512GB storage configuration same as the previous one. But compared to the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra which has a 12GB base model, Xiaomi’s 16GB is a better option. Samsung’s 16GB RAM variant is only available in their domestic market so Xiaomi’s 16GB global variant is more appealing to power users.

Performance and Storage: How does it compare?

Storage and RAM of a telephone play a huge role in multitasking and performance. The Xiaomi 15 Ultra, with its 16GB of RAM, should handle resource-intensive tasks without breaking a sweat, while multitasking will be slick and snappy. Not to be completely fair, but Samsung still holds an ace in terms of offering 1TB storage on the Galaxy S25 Ultra, as opposed to Xiaomi, which stops at 512GB. It may be considered a minor weakness for those whose work requires lots of storage.

Release Date

The Xiaomi 15 Ultra is likely to be launched in China this month and will roll out globally. If Xiaomi follows the same pattern as its predecessor, then the global launch will be at MWC 2025.

With 16GB RAM, competitive storage, and flagship features in tow, this Xiaomi 15 Ultra is gearing up to compete seriously with the likes of Samsung, Google, and OnePlus. We will know if it seriously takes down the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but for sure Xiaomi is going all guns blazing on the flagship spaces.
