Improved Joy-Con Design with Hall Effect Sticks
A teardown of the Nintendo Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers has revealed that they will feature Hall effect sticks-a design change that eliminates the infamous stick drift issue. Stick drift, a problem where the joystick registers movement without input, plagued the original Nintendo Switch and frustrated many users.
The leak comes via NextHandheld, the same person who shared images of the Switch 2 system, dock, and controllers. If true, this would be one of those revolutionary features that could become an industry-expected standard from console manufacturers since stick drift has been an issue on many modern controllers, not just Joy-Cons.
Special Edition Console with Mario Kart 9
Other leaks indicate that a special edition of the Switch 2 is coming at launch, which would include the ninth installment of a first-party series, presumably Mario Kart 9. Although not confirmed as the final name, the game was reportedly going to be one of the main headliners when the Switch 2 launches.
