Year of the Snake Celebrated
Apple has introduced a special edition of the AirPods 4, featuring an engraving for the Year of the Snake to help celebrate the upcoming Lunar New Year that begins on January 29th. The new, limited-edition earbuds feature the icon representing the Year of the Snake exclusively on the USB-C charging case.
So far, these special AirPods 4 have only been launched in select regions including China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore.
Limited Edition AirPods 4 Features
The Year of the Snake AirPods 4 are functionally the same as the regular ones. They pack in features like Active Noise Cancellation, adaptive audio and transparency mode. In fact, they’re Apple’s first earbuds with Active Noise Cancellation that don’t rely on silicone ear tips to fit snugly in your ears.
Added features include support for spatial audio, enhancing the listening experience, as well as further integration with other Apple devices. This special edition commands the same price as regular AirPods 4 despite the engravings.
Where to Buy
The special edition AirPods 4 are available from today, with deliveries from January 8. To keep things as exclusive as possible, Apple has limited purchases to two pairs per customer.
This release continues the tradition of Apple launching limited edition products to celebrate the Lunar New Year. The company previously launched customized AirPods Pro for the Year of the Dragon, Ox, Tiger, and Rabbit. This is the first time it’s focusing on the standard AirPods line.

Besides the special edition AirPods, Apple has also run a New Year sale in China, which offers 500 yuan off on the iPhone 16 series and slashes the prices of popular items like Macs, iPads, and AirPods. Even accessories have been added to the sale to provide different options for customers to get discounts.
Further, the “Today at Apple” sessions are themed in celebrating the Year of the Snake at Apple from January 4 until February 14. The workshops, at the heart of creative activities with customers, revolve around the holiday.
